Seton Village is a city within New Mexico located in Santa Fe County. It is around 7 miles south of Santa Fe and was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1965. Seton Village’s approximate area is 47.3 acres. It was established as a residential settlement in 1930 by Ernest Thompson Seton, who is best known as the founder of the Boy Scouts of America.
Here in Seton Village, you will find Seton’s historic 32 room castle which he started building in 1933. Unfortunately, during its restoration process in 2005, the Seton castle burnt down. You can also find educational and residential buildings which were likely built within the 1930’s and 1940’s, holding a vast amount of history.
You will find beautiful views of the Jemez Mountains and Mount Taylor from Seton Village. Both
areas offer opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking and cross-country skiing.
